Whether we like it or not, humans will feel greed in one way or another—but whether we act on it is a different thing.
To alleviate the feeling of greed, Dutch conceptual artist Diddo created an injection kit.
‘The Cure For Greed’ injection kit consists of all things expensive: a 24-karat gold-plated syringe, and a vial of pure US dollar ink serum made from about US$10,000.
The iconic object hopes to re-examine our assumptions of greed, so that we come to terms with it to find a ‘cure’.
“My main point is that we are humans and that this human behavior, which has served our species so well throughout history is still an inseparable part of who we are,” he tells Trendland. “In the end, a cure free from side effects has to be invented and must be found, to do that we need to start thinking a little more about who we are and what we want to become.”
