‘Ku’: An App That Helps You Compose Thoughtful, Haiku-Like Status Updates

If you’re a heavy social media user who loves coming up with carefully-crafted statuses, you might want to check out ‘Ku’, a free iOS app that helps you compose creative status updates.

Developed by an Israeli startup of the same name, it aims to turn mundane statuses into thoughtful, haiku-like statements.

For the uninitiated, a haiku is a Japanese poetic form that follows a syllabic structure of 5/7/5.

The ‘Ku’ app uses question prompts like “How was your lunch?” to “What did you do last night?” to get your creative juices and thoughts flowing.

After penning down your haiku-esque statement, which should fit in three lines, you can opt to add a drawing or a photograph to further accentuate your composition.

You can also add a hashtag to make it searchable, and choose to share it among the Ku network or to other social networks.
