Infographic: The Graphic History Of Sex In Film

Sex and film go way back, from the first on-screen kiss in 1896’s The Kiss to erotically-charged films like Midnight Cowboy and Last Tango in Paris of the ’60s and ’70s.

As part of its ‘Sexploitation’ series, film website Fandor has created an infographic that gives you the rundown on sexually explicit films through the eras.

Reflecting changing attitudes towards sex and the daringness of film-makers to take risks, they include boundary-pushing titles like Blue Velvet and In The Realm Of The Senses, the pornographic Deep Throat, and more recently, the tender lesbian love story Blue Is The Warmest Color.

Find out which other films challenged censors and scandalized audiences, in the infographic below.
