This Couple Quit Their Advertising Jobs To Travel The World For A Year

9245km // Untersberg // Austria—After a 9 minute death-defying cable car trip, we were on top of the 1973m high #Untersberg mountain. A sunny 6 degrees, and a panoramic view—we couldn’t have asked for more.

Two creatives—Stevo Dirnberger and Chanel Cartell—quit their jobs and embarked on a year-long adventure traveling around the world.

Cartell said, “Our theme for our journey is ‘How Far From Home’—to see how far we can actually get.”

She added, “We quit our jobs in the creative field of advertising, sold all of our belongings and packed up our world into four bags—two filled with camera gear, of course.

“We were no longer feeling challenged; we needed something that would charge the electrolytes running through our veins.”

The couple has already kick started their journey on 2 March this year with a ‘wanderlist’, where individuals can send them challenges or to-dos to fulfill when visiting a particular country.

They also explored options for getting by on their travels without a routine paycheck.

“We came across Workaway, which allows nomads the opportunity to visit and stay in a foreign place, whilst working four to five hours per day on a number of tasks, in exchange for accommodation and food. With our passion lying in photography, outdoor adventures and dogs, we’ve secured three Workaway hosts with whom we will be staying—a husky farm in the Arctic Circle, a Swedish campsite surrounded by forests and lakes and an Italian dog training facility near Florence.”

Take a peek at their round-the-world trip below and head on over to their website or Instagram for more photos.
